UX design for the World Gold Council website

I helped Bostock and Pollitt re-develop the user experience for the World Gold Council website.

Overview

The World Gold Council is the market development organisation of the gold industry. Working within the investment, jewellery and technology sectors, as well as engaging in government affairs.

The legacy website was extremely content-heavy, with a confusing information architecture and a poorly executed look and feel.

Solution

Bostock and Pollitt asked me to help re-develop the user experience for the new website. As part of the brief I conducted an audit of the existing website and analysed the user experience. I also looked at what the competition were doing and website best practice(s).

I used this analysis along with the development of user personas and analysis of common user tasks to define typical user journeys. This in turn led to the development of an improved site architecture and functional specification and production of a detailed sitemap and wireframes.
