Responsive HTML Prototype development For BT Business Insights

I worked with the design team at Work Club and their technical partner By ng Systems to develop a responsive HTML prototype using for  BT Business.

Overview

The BT Business Insights microsite was in need of updating to meet both the evolving needs of the business and it’s customers.

Solution

Along with the Work Club team I took part in several workshops with the client. During these sessions we gathered key business and user requirements and sketched out ideas for the IA and UX.

I then worked collaboratively with the in-house design team at Work Club to develop a functional HTML prototype and pattern library to document the user experience.

The user experience had to be accessible across multiple devices. Due to time/budget limitations, developing a specific mobile experience was out of the question. So we adopted a responsive approach instead. As I’ve previously mentioned, there are inherent flaws in developing static wireframes to document a fluid user experience. So I proposed the excellent Bootstrap framework as the basis of our prototype.

Results

The result was a functional HTML prototype that allowed the client and the design team to fully understand the user experience vision and progress the design and build of the project more rapidly than if I had developed static wireframes.
