Global ID Solutions

May 4th, 2007

Global Identifying Solutions is London-based, financial markets, search and selection consultancy. They have many years of experience of dealing with top-end candidates and exclusive city-based clients.

Global Identifying Solutions required a web presence that set them apart from the competition. The full solution I developed enabled Global Id to undertake maintenance of the web site content through a custom-built CMS. This functionality enables them to update existing and add new content to the web site.

Schoogel

May 4th, 2007

Schoogel is a comprehensive search engine for finding schools and universities in specific geographical areas. The purpose of the site is to provide students with a centralised, research resource, for finding the location of their next step in their education.

I developed a custom-built web application that allows visitors to search for schools by discipline and/or country. Search results can be browsed and then schools can be contacted directly. There is also a facility for schools/universities to upload a profile of themselves. Once a profile is created a school can upload a picture, edit the text and set up an email address to receive comments from students.

McKinlayKidd: See Scotland Differently

May 4th, 2007

McKinlay Kidd offer bespoke holidays in Scotland. They conduct a large proportion of their business through the internet. They felt that it was time for their site to been redesigned to give it that extra edge over it’s competitors.

I graphically redesigned the site to bring the interface up-to-date, whilst maintaining the existing branding and content. I added some new functionality to the front end of the site including a new CSS-drop-down menu system, Ajax-powered html forms and show/hide functionality. The site is now more intuitive, responsive and better organised.

I also redeveloped the Content Management System that was built 3 years ago. A lot of new functionality has been added to improve the usability of the application, such as AJAX-powered inline image editing, drag and drop content components, TinyMCE-powered rich text editors and a new media management module.

Barratt Homes: Individualist website

May 4th, 2007

I was contracted by Electric to develop a new website for their client Barratt Homes. The site was to coincide with an integrated campaign that Electric were developing for Barratt. The website is a showcase of Barratt’s new property development in the South East of England. Visitors can search a database of available developments and then store up to 6 properties in their list, and then request the relevant brochure from Barratt.

Electric took care of the graphic design of the website and Hungry Browser developed the front and back end of the site.

McDonalds Make Up Your Own Mind

March 22nd, 2007

McDonalds Make Up Your Own Mind was a site I worked on whilst Freelancing as a Front end Web Developer at Duke. The site was commisioned by McDonalds UK to engage the public in an open dialogue about it’s business: food, working environment, environmental obligations, suppliers etc.

The original site had been built in Flash and was inaccessible and demonstrated poor usability. Duke Paris won the contract to redevelop an accessible version of the site. I worked on the first phase of development and was responsible for writing the XHTML, CSS and JavaScript whilst Duke Paris developed the interface design.
