Background
My name’s Ben Ellis and I am the Director of Hungry Browser Limited, a User Experience Consultancy based in Essex, UK. I offer consultancy services including: Information Architecture, User Experience Analysis, Web Design, Web Development and User Insight (through web analytics and user behaviour research).
I’ve worked at some interesting places over the years, ranging from DotCom start ups and small agencies, to multi-national media corporations, client-side and now for myself. If you’d like to know more then check out the projects I’ve recently been engaged on .
Clients
Clients and colleagues like what I do and the way in which I do it. I like to be organised, focused and professional whilst having fun and telling a few jokes along the way. I am a perfectionist in everything that I do and don’t compromise on quality for the sake of getting the job done quickly.
Creative
I have filmed and edited 3 short movies (WST06, BST07 and Whister08), taken 1000s of photos and also have been known to dabble both in the kitchen and with the guitar on occasion.
Travel
I am a firm believer in obtaining a good work/life balance and for me exercise and travel form an essential part this. I believe that a person can obtain many transferable skills through exposing themselves to different places, cultures, ideas and activities.
I enjoy skiing and have skied extensively throughout France, Italy, Andorra, USA and Canada.
BSA Surf coaching and life guarding
I am a committed surfer and train hard to maintain a healthy mind and body. My surf travels have taken me all over the world including: Australia, South Africa, Bali, Fiji, USA, Canary Islands, Brazil and Portugal to name but few.
I am a BSA-approved Level 1 Surf Instructor and qualified RLSS Beach Lifeguard (NBLQ) and hope to put these skills into practice more in the forthcoming years.
